Among the landscapes of Meleto Valdarno, which formed the backdrop for Leonardo's Mona Lisa

After the lockdown, the world of tourism is slowly preparing to resume its activities. This year, domestic demand is expected to grow, so I thought I would continue following the previous articles, dedicated to Italian destinations, presenting a very beautiful structure, immersed in the Chianti hills, in Tuscany.

The Villa Barberino resort, located in Meleto Valdarno, looks like an "ancient Tuscan village", renovated in 1988, and includes a manor house, and 5 blocks of buildings on two levels, which house rooms and apartments. All surrounded by beautiful Italian gardens.

The location is perfect for those who like to make cultural excursions in the cities of art, as the resort is located in the center of a strategic triangle optimal for reaching Florence, Siena and Arezzo. However, if the guest simply wants to relax, the gentle and beautiful  hilly landscape of the Valdarno (art lovers will know that Meleto is the background for the famous portrait of Leonardo "La Gioconda"), and a large outdoor swimming pool are perfect for getting the purpose!

19 rooms are in the Classic (20sqm) and Superior (27sqm) typologies, all of them furnished with antiques. The 10 apartments, Mono (46sqm) and Bilo (75sqm), equipped with a kitchenette, some of them with a small terrace, are an excellent accommodation for families.

The restaurant is located in the ancient dining rooms of the village, the old fireplace in the internal room is fascinating and the external terrace is pleasant. The menu offers the best of excellent Tuscan cuisine based on fresh local products. The cellar was built between 600 and 800 AD! and it houses 4000 bottles of 850 among the best labels in Tuscany. The resort also produces wines from its vineyards that are grown in the estate. In short, if you are a lover of art, woods, good food and good wine, a holiday in Villa Barberino will certainly be a winning choice.
