Alila Koh Russey Resort: beachside relaxation in Cambodia under the sign of 5 stars hospitality
Cambodia is a small country but surprising for the variety of experiences it can offer a traveler. I will just mention the splendor of the Angkor archaeological area, one of the most rewarding cultural visits imaginable.

Few people perhaps know that Cambodia also boasts fascinating seaside sites. Certainly the popular Sihanoukville, the main coastal town for beach holidays, is quite congested and I would not recommend it for those seeking tranquility. However, a few kilometers from the coast, with a short boat transfer you can reach  Koh Russey,  a small island where instead it is realized the desire to relax in a small tropical paradise with a beautiful sea.

Here the staff of Alila Koh Russey Resort will take care of you, an example of Asian hospitality that blends respect for the environment with luxury and comfort. The resort’s minimalist cubic buildings, feature flat roofs and alternating vertical striations that reflect the overall Khmer Krama theme, they are built with eco-sustainable materials and the light penetrates the rooms creating a special harmony between interior and exterior space.
The design has been inspired by Zen-like simplicity and serenity feel:  hardwood floors, dark volcanic and slate-like stone, and steel meet with wooden screens, light-coloured fabrics and plush furnishings.

From next November the resort will be renovated, offering guests more Ocean and Beach Pavillion units, 32 in total, while Garden Pavillion units will drop to 18.

The villas will also be renovated so that all have sea views and direct access to the beach. A total of 64 housing units will be available. The resort, strengthened by the many awards obtained in recent years, wants to further improve the quality of the guests' experience, expanding the range of accommodation with a closer contact with the sea and the beach.

The cuisine is excellent thanks to the engagement of qualified chefs, proposed in two very different restaurants: the most informal Beach Shack with a thatched roof, built around a sand platform, with bar and outdoor grill, and Horizon, located near the pool and with sea view, which features a more sophisticated vibe in the evening. Dishes range from typical Khmer cuisine to Asian and international cuisine.

Finally, in a place designed to guarantee total serenity and relaxation, the Spa could not be missing. Here, it is conceived as a sanctuary of well-being, with an extensive menu of treatments using natural products, linked to local traditions such as the aloe, coconut oil, Khmer herbs and spices.
