Virtuoso Travel Week On Tour – Lisbon

Lisbon has recently hosted one of the most expected Virtuoso appointments of the year in Europe. This event, reserved for European travel consultants affiliated to the prestigious international network, offers the opportunity to meet, both representatives of the Virtuoso team and the preferred partners,  operators from all over the world who present their exclusive tourist proposals and experiences in specials workshops

Obviously, Portugal, as a host country, was the most represented destination. Participating for me was an opportunity to see many colleagues but above all I had the opportunity to meet personally Elsa Bacry the new manager of EMEA (Europe Middle East Africa) Virtuoso.

The Virtuoso Travel Week On Tour consists of frenetic days of work for the many meetings scheduled with the preferred partners but also dedicates time not less important for visits to the best resorts in the city hosting the event and socializing in incredible locations , as an aperitif to the rhythm of live music from the top floor of the TIVOLI hotel in Lisbon with a sunset view of the city.

If you are thinking of spending a weekend in the Portuguese capital, and you want your holiday to leave your mark, I suggest you stay in one of these resorts:

POUSADA DE LISBOA

A place with a unique heritage charm, located in Praca do Comercio from which the city began to expand. After the earthquake of 1755, the Marquis of Pombal designed and rebuilt the entire square, including the building of the Pousada de Lisboa which hosted the former Ministry of the Interior. The majestic golden facade of the hotel and the interiors leave you speechless. I recommend the modern RIB Beef & Wine restaurant for an evening with Portuguese wines and the best selection of national and international DOP meat.

The top of the hotel is the magnificent ballroom.

VALVERDE HOTEL

This Boutique hotel, an oasis of comfort and discrete luxury, very intimate located on Avenida da Liberdade, has its own classic and elegant style, contemporary furniture, works of art and antiques. Its warm colors, the comfort of fabrics and materials, the familiar layout of the spaces, are what distinguish the Hotel Valverde from any other hotel in the surrounding area.

In conclusion it’s a small size hotel wirh very personalized service in an optimal position to move even on foot to the main places of interest.

OLISSIPPO LAPA PALACE

The Olissippo Lapa Palace Hotel was originally a stately home, built in 1870 as the private residence of the Count of Valencia and his family. It’s located in the diplomatic quarter of Lisbon in a panoramic position with beautiful views of the bay and a lush garden with swimming pool. Great for families, allows a moment of relaxation during the stay to be alternated with the visit of the city.
