Home working in the Tuscan Maremma

2021 has started with the hope that vaccines will finally make resume leisure travel, giving us protection against the spread of Covid. Meanwhile, current regulations allow travel for business purposes, and many professionals or employees of companies, bodies and organizations can carry out their activities in home working mode.

Putting these two conditions together, I am pleased to point out situations in which the aspect of work can be combined with the serenity of being able to carry out one's work in a place surrounded by beauty and with all the comforts of a luxury resort. The Andana Tenuta la Badiola is immersed in the Tuscan Maremma, appreciated for the beauty of its landscapes of hills, vineyards and Mediterranean scrub, just 7 km from the ancient village of Castiglione della Pescaia, on the Tyrrhenian coast. The Estate consists of two buildings: the Villa and  “la casa” (the house).

While the Villa is waiting for Easter to reopen its gates to visitors, “La casa” is already available for those who want, even with their family, to move the office to one of the 14 suites, each equipped with a small kitchen where even the food shopping will be served. “La casa” has an evocative name in itself that smacks of intimacy, a value that has inspired the building renovation project from the outset, carried out by the architect Ettore Mocchetti, director of AD Italy.

The resort has 14 rooms and suites, each overlooking the green and the nearby hills, dotted with olive trees, holm oaks, strawberry trees and mastic trees. Some of them have a fragrant garden, in others the outdoor space consists of a private terrace. The furnishings, both in the materials and in the atmosphere, reflect the most authentic essence of the Grosseto Maremma. You can also feel the proximity of the sea: just look out onto the terrace or go out into the garden to smell the aromas of the Mediterranean scrub mixed with the salty smell brought by the winds that blow from the coast.

You can choose between three types of rooms: the Terrace Deluxe, the Family Mezzanine and the Family Suite. The Terrace Deluxe, (35 sqm), has a spacious and bright bedroom with a romantic fireplace. It has a large terrace overlooking the green and the striking colors of the Maremma countryside. The bathroom, also equipped with a bathtub, is embellished with marble. The Family Mezzanine has a larger surface area (50 m2), is located on the ground floor and overlooks a private garden, equipped with a wrought iron table and chairs. Apart from the bedroom with the fireplace, it also has a small corner-study and a spacious mezzanine, which can serve as a living room or be transformed into a bedroom for younger children. The Family Suite is the largest (80sqm) room characterized by a refined living area equipped with a table while the kitchen occupies an independent and dedicated space. Also present in this typology the fireplace in the room and a study corner. The terrace is very spacious and the bathroom has a jacuzzi. A wooden staircase leads to a mezzanine area, illuminated by two large skylights, and here is a second bedroom, with white exposed beams and another bathroom. The smaller rooms can also be communicating with other rooms of the same type.

In conclusion, the Andana Tenuta la Badiola offers an ideal accommodation solution for those who want not only to work in home working in a special place but also not give up the company of their family, who enjoying more freedom will have more time to care of themselves, as well as the opportunity to discover and get to know the magnificent environment of the Tuscan Maremma.
