Adventure and luxury in the pristine Burmese archipelago of Mergui

The Mergui Archipelago, which is located in the south of Myanmar at short distance from Thailand, is still unspoiled and consists of 800 islands surrounded by a sea that has nothing to envy to the Maldives. In this beautiful naturalistic setting Wa Ale Resort, recently built, offers a luxury stay in full respect of the environment.

The eleven tented beach villas are spacious and furnished with simple but refined elegance. Three villas have been built on the trees in the middle of lush vegetation. Even the cuisine is very cured with traditional Asian dishes but also Mediterranean flavors. The resort is ideal for those looking for a place a bit isolated to relax, for those who love adventure and want to explore even with sports activities a truly intact marine and natural habitat.

The resort can be reached from Yangon, with an hour and a half flight to Kawthaung and then by motorboat (two and a half hours the duration of the transfer); from Bangkok with an hour and a twenty flight to Ranong, short boat transfer (15 minutes) to Kawthaung and then fast speed boat ride; or by car from Phuket (transfer time approximately three and a half hours) to Ranong and then in the way above described.

In the archipelago of Mergui, the only Myanmar Marine Park has been established, based in the island of Lampi, with the aim of preserving the flora and fauna of the ecosystem. The Wa Ale Resort leaves a part of its income to a foundation that finances the projects of the Marine Park also to improve the living conditions of the few villages in the area.
